Stevens Point police K9 program receives large community donation

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – The Stevens Point Police Department K9 unit received a $30,250 donation Friday following a successful fundraiser.

The donation came from Cruz with the Cops, a car show and fundraiser held annually to raise money for Stevens Point’s K9 unit. The event was held at PJ Jacobs Junior High last month and featured a live demonstration of a K9 unit in action.

The K9 unit currently has three working canines and relies heavily on community donations. This amount will go a long way towards providing training and resources for the unit.
