K9 alert leads to drug bust

COLDSPRING — One man was arrested on drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Friday near the intersection of state highways 150 and 156.
Bryson Derr, 22, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance after the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office deputy and K9 picked up on the possibility of drugs in the vehicle.
After officers searched the vehicle, they recovered suspected controlled substances, items that may have been used for distribution, and other items of drug paraphernalia.
•San Jacinto County K9 teams deployed to opposite sides of the county on Wednesday, and traffic stops were conducted in Point Blank and Shepherd.
K9s alerted to the presence of narcotics and all individuals were arrested and charged with felony possession of controlled substances.
Arrested on two traffic stops were Joshua Beaty, 17, of Shepherd; lsabela Gorney, 17, of Shepherd; and James Hosea, 19, of Oakhurst.
