K-9 Tulsa joins the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office

The newest deputy at the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office is only 13 months old, but she’s already a quarter of the way through patrol school.
Tulsa is a black lab from Connecticut-based Katalyst Kennels, which breeds and trains working dogs for a variety of tasks. Tulsa will work with Deputy Jeff Bain.
Bain and Tulsa are in week four of a 12-week patrol school at Northeast Regional K-9 Group, but they’ll continue training together throughout Tulsa’s career.
Bain served five years with the Rindge Police Department before joining the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office last year.
He said working with a K-9 has long been an interest of his. Being part of a K-9 team is a significant commitment of time and energy, extending beyond the bounds of a traditional workday. But it’s also a chance to be part of one of law enforcement’s most unique tools.
