LEO Patrol Detector Dog Handler Course

This course equips law enforcement personnel with the operational knowledge and practical skills required to effectively deploy Patrol/ Detector K9 teams in real-world scenarios. Training is built around two core disciplines: patrol operations and detection work.

In patrol, handlers will develop control and tactical application of the K9 in suspect apprehension, building searches, and tracking, with a focus on operational effectiveness and handler- K9 coordination.

In detection, handlers learn to develop and maintain reliable odor recognition for narcotics, explosives, or other contraband. Training focuses on scent imprinting, consistent alert behaviors, and performance in operationally realistic scenarios.

Delivered through structured, scenario-based training, this course produces K9 teams capable of supporting law enforcement missions and enhancing public safety outcomes.
