BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Burley residents flocked to the Cassia County Fairgrounds to help support their local sheriff’s office.
The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office held their annual Carnival and Cornhole K9 Fundraiser.
People came out to enjoy the aforementioned cornhole, as well as food and other activities. People could also enter into a raffle to win multiple prizes.
Corporal Alyssa Doty said the goal of this event is to raise money to supplement the budget for the the sheriff’s office K9 unit.
“We already have a small budget, but it doesn’t matter how many dogs we have for that budget, it only covers so much. And that’s like basic needs, such as basic vet bills like immunizations and food costs and just general things like that. Maybe if we have to replace a kennel that got damaged or something like that. But equipment for dogs is so expensive,” Cpl. Doty said.
Doty said on average this event raises $7,000 for their K9 unit. She said the sheriffs office is grateful for everyone who came out to their carnival.
