Butte County Search and Rescue aids lost hikers, conducts weekend training exercises

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — The Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team responded to multiple calls and conducted training exercises throughout the weekend, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

Volunteers were dispatched Friday night to Table Mountain to search for lost hikers, using drones equipped with thermal imaging. Crews returned to the area Saturday afternoon to assist an exhausted hiker back to the trailhead.
