Taos Search and Rescue trains next generation of volunteers

On Saturday (Feb. 22), the blades of a Careflight medevac helicopter chopped through the air as it descended into a meadow near the Amole Canyon Trail south of Taos. The landing was part of a Taos Search and Rescue training for search and rescue volunteers.

“Being a part of Taos Search and Rescue means really giving back and being a part of the community to learn new skills and use the skills you already have,” Lael “Little John” Knowles said. “Believe me, it’s really rewarding to bring someone back safe or get someone back to their family.”
