Mobile Police, K-9 chase stolen car suspect through woods

MOBILE, AL (WALA) – More than a dozen police cars with canine units sweep through neighborhoods around Government Boulevard and Demetropolis Road Tuesday searching for a stolen vehicle suspect.

It started about 1 pm near the Crest Motel in the 4400 block of Government Boulevard when police said they tried to stop a stolen vehicle.

People in the area said they saw police chasing a black SUV that ended up back in the woods next to the motel.

Police say the driver bailed out and they gave chase.

A police dog was led into the woods to search for him.
