K-9 department head resigns; Sergeant takes job at Lake Worth

The head of the Wise County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit is leaving.

Sgt. J.T. Manoushagian said Wednesday he tendered his resignation last week to take over as patrol commander in the Lake Worth Police Department. Manoushagian had been with the sheriff’s office for five years and previously worked in Bridgeport.
“Since I got out of the military, I’ve been in Bridgeport or with the sheriff’s office. It’s been eight-and-a-half years,” Manoushagian said.
“[The K-9 unit] is one of the things I’m most proud of. With Sheriff [David] Walker and Chief [Kevin] Benton we were able to create it from nothing. I couldn’t be more proud of what we do. We have great dogs and great handlers.” Read More
