Rachel Nuzzo

Rachel Nuzzo was born in Alabama but spent most of her childhood in Florida. The rest of her teenage and adult life has been spent in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. She started working in veterinary medicine at the age of 14, cleaning kennels, and went on to general practice at the age of 18. Rachel found her love for working dogs, specifically Belgian Malinois, while employed at a training kennel where she trained dogs for multiple disciplines, including IPO/IGP/Schutzhund. Rachel now works in Internal Medicine Specialty, which includes a wide array of diseases affecting internal organs such as the kidneys, liver, gastrointestinal tract, endocrine glands, lungs and bone marrow. In her spare time, she works with her two Belgian Malinois, Gator and Denwer, and is involved in Cadaver Search and Rescue as well as Schutzhund.

Class: Emergency/Critical K-9 Field Care

In this class, you will learn how to effectively help your K-9 partner by knowing the signs to respond quickly to any canine emergency before transporting to the nearest Veterinary ER. We go over a list of crucial topics that may happen while in the field as well as emergencies while off duty. By equipping handlers with the skills to handle any medical emergencies involving their K-9 partners, this program plays a vital role in safeguarding the well-being of these beloved dogs. All canine medical questions are welcome, regardless of subject or severity.
