Paul Hammond

Paul Hammond is widely recognized as an industry leader in the use and deployment of explosive detection dog teams around the world, with a distinguished career spanning 34+ years, having managed many of the world’s largest operational canine programs.

As a former British Military Elite Forces Soldier, he has vast operational experience in domestic and international terrorism, spanning 20 years of continuous deployments in hostile environments, including seven years in Iraq and Afghanistan managing K9 programs in support of the U.S. Dept of Defense and the U.S. Dept of State and 12 years deployed to Northern Ireland during some of its most unsettled times with the British Army Dog Unit.

Paul has served as the senior working-dog advisor for British Military Defense, Evaluation & Research Agency (DERA). He has also worked alongside Auburn University’s Canine Performance Science Program on key government research initiatives and was Special Advisor to the European Counterterrorism Commission [22 Countries] on body-worn canine explosive detection. Paul has founded numerous industry canine companies, to include iK9, Vapor Wake K9, Cargo Screening K9 and is currently the Vice President Education, K9 & Specialized Security at Andy Frain Security

Police, Military and Private Sector Explosive K9 teams were tested on challenging, low and high threat operational based training scenarios, many of which left handlers realizing they had to advance their skills as handlers.
