This course is a comprehensive class designed to equip police dog handlers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively train and manage their canine partners. The course covers various topics including basic obedience training, problem solving, scent detection, bite work, and legal measures. The instructors, who are experienced police dog trainers, use practical demonstrations and hands-on exercise to help the handlers understand the principles of dog behavior and training methods. The goal of this course is to provide police dog handlers with the tools and the confidence they need to train their dogs to a high standard and maintain their skills throughout the dog’s working life. All experience levels are welcome to attend. This course is California POST certified.
