Police Decoy Course
April 18 - April 22 2022 @ Gainesville, GA | Host: Custom Canine Unlimited
Adam Crenshaw, instructor, has been a professional police decoy for over 15 years. His passion initially started by decoying for his police department K9 unit. His love grew and led him in 2008 to training with Royal Dutch Police Trainers and KNPV certified decoys. Adam has continued to develop his expertise to make the Police Decoy Course his own. Crenshaw realizes there is no better virtue as a police decoy than to continue to learn. Current law enforcement techniques and the selective breeding of working dogs all evolve. Therefore, his decoy program must also evolve. He keeps in close contact with other dog decoys, K9 handlers, and keeps his suit full of dog slobber to ensure he maintains an up-to-date decoy course.
The Police K9 Decoy Course places focus on three areas:
- Reducing liability for the department.
- Reducing the risk of injury to the patrol dog and the police decoy.
- Developing a reliable, level headed patrol dog.
All three of these areas are vital to sustaining any Multi-Purpose K9 Team. If any of these areas are misplaced, the success of the K9 Team or K9 unit will suffer.
Learn the decoy equipment, decoy techniques, and canine behavior, necessary to prepare a patrol dog for K9 deployment in the Police Decoy Course. These areas will provide a safer training environment for the decoy and police dog, while maximizing deployment gains.
