The Kimble County Sheriff’s Office Department is pleased to host the one day “Kg Casualty Care Course” program for all the First Responders, Law Enforcement, and Kg Handlers in the region. The training is sponsored by Memorial Hermann Life Flight Operational Medicine Unit.

The goal of Memorial Hermann Life Flight Operational Medicine (MHLFOM) includes “in field” emergency care to canine officers. Additionally, providing canine emergency care education to handlers, tactical medics, and EMS, who work closely with canine officers in the austere environment. Trends are drawn from current and civilian guidelines to be used for pre-hospital canine emergency care.

The class is designed for EMS, Law Enforcement Officers, and Kg Handlers. This class consist of Lectures on topics consisting of trauma care, common medical emergencies, Narcan usage for canines, and common toxins experienced in the field. Several skill stations a re also included.

This course will be Limited to 40 students and their Operational Kgs applicable. Training materials and attendance is FREE but donations to Life Flight are welcomed. Department Kgs are welcome to attend but not required for the course. TCOLE and CE Hours are eligible for this training.
