The Adlerhorst nose work course has been designed to train dogs to detect odors for sport or competition. This course of instruction is also aimed at providing the student Handlers, the basic knowledge of the most efficient and effective methods of detection training.
Upon completion of this course of instruction, the dog will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize trained odors and differentiate them from all others.
- Demonstrate a range of responses from a change of behavior to a final response when trained odors have been discovered.
Upon completion of this course of instruction, the student Handler will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to assess the search environment, conduct an efficient, effective and thorough search as a K9 detection team.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify activities, behaviors, and final response of the dog when trained odors have been discovered.
