JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — The James City County Police Department announced the formation of its first K-9 unit on Friday.

Officer Drew Crockett and Master Police Officer Ryan Ellis were selected as the Department’s first handlers and were paired with their K-9s on Thursday. They will receive specialized training with their K-9s to receive official certification in the coming months.
