This two day course teaches teams how to properly and tactfully search on or off lead, areas or buildings, and within a team element. This course starts with a powerpoint on perimeter control, suspect trends, tactical approaches to problem areas, search methods, case law, and search team functions. At the conclusion of the powerpoint teams will conduct scenario based tactical searches with their patrol teams. Patrol officers or SWAT personnel are encouraged to attend with the canine handler and participate in the scenarios. This course is POST certified.
